Grounds Maintenance

Grounds Maintenance includes the cutting of grass and hedges as well as shrub bed maintenance to communal land owned by Trafford Housing Trust. This will include the following:

• Open spaces 
• Grounds to sheltered schemes 
• House Frontages 
• Community Gardens 
• Grass verges on footpaths that have not been adopted by Trafford MBC Highway services
  

There are also two schemes for Individual Garden Maintenance.

1. Assisted Garden Scheme for those tenants who are in receipt of benefits relating to a disability and would like a subsidised service

2. Individual Garden Service for residents who want to consider purchasing a service for reasonable rates

This is a panel of tenant and resident representatives, neighbourhood housing officers, contractors and Trafford Housing Trust contract supervising officer.

•  It meets bi-monthly to discuss and monitor the performance of the grounds maintenance contractors. 
  
• It carries twice yearly inspections of selected sites across Trafford that are maintained by the contractors Glendale, Pinnacle & Trafford Borough Council. 
  
• Representatives from the panel were part of the selection process in appointing the current contractors in June 2006.
