By 2010 all homes have to meet the Government’s Decent Homes
Standard.
Trafford Housing Trust would exceed that standard by putting in place a major improvements programme, designed to ensure that all homes meet the superior Trafford Standard by 2010.
A Trafford Standard Home would:

A Trafford Standard Home would:
- Be structurally sound and free from dampness
- Have doors and windows that are safe and provide good security
- Have modern heating systems and be energy efficient
- Have a modern bathroom (i.e. less than 20 years old)
- Have a modern kitchen (i.e. less than 20 years old)
- Have modern electrical standards (i.e. less than 25 years old)
- Be in a good environment
- Have secure and clean communal areas
- Have modern standards of home safety, e.g. security window locks
- Not be potentially dangerous to the health and safety of occupiers
